SAMBA, Jan 31: Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College, Samba organised a programme for the election and investiture of the Student Council for the academic session 2025-26 with great enthusiasm. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Prof (Dr) Nirlape Kour, Principal of the college, who formally conferred badges and sashes on the newly elected student representatives, symbolising leadership, responsibility and trust.
Principal congratulated the office bearers and advised them to uphold discipline, integrity and democratic values while serving as an effective link between students and the administration. She urged the council members to discharge their duties with fairness, impartiality and a strong sense of responsibility.
The ceremony marked the official assumption of duties by the Student Council and aimed at fostering leadership qualities, accountability and a spirit of service among students, reflecting the institution’s commitment to holistic development beyond academics.
The welcome address was delivered by Prof Seema Sharma, Convener, Student Welfare Committee, while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr Mala Bhasin. The event was attended by faculty members, members of the Student Welfare Committee and students. The proceedings were conducted by Jahnavi Pargal and Bansh Sharma of the IVth and IInd semesters respectively.
