GDC Samba, MBS College register convincing victories over rivals

JAMMU, Feb 1: GDC Samba and MBS College registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
In the first match, GDC Samba defeated GDC Billawar by 7 wickets. Batting first, GDC Billawar scored 78 runs in 16 for the loss of 9 wickets in the process. Vishal was the top scorer with 23 runs, while Yuvraj Singh made 14 runs.
For GDC Samba, Anup Singh scalped 4 wickets, while Anupam and Ranjit scalped one wicket each.
In reply, GDC Samba, chased the target in 11.5 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Digvijay was top scorer with 29 runs, while Reshav and Abhishek contributed with 20 and 10 runs respectively.
For GDC Billawar, Abhishek scalped 2 wickets.
In another match, MBS College thrashed GDC Paloura by 40 runs. MBS College scored a fighting total of 133 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Jatinder Singh, Rahul Kumar, Gourav Singh and Mansagar Singh made 26, 18, 17 and 16 runs respectively.
For GDC Paloura side, Tribhuvan, and Sajjad claimed 2 wickets each, while Nipun, Sahil and Ramandeep Singh took one wicket apiece.
In second inning, GDC Paloura scored 93 runs in 20 overs for all out, thus lost the match by 40 runs. Nipun, Rahul Kumar and Mohit scored 21, 17 and 16 runs respectively.
For MBS College side, Mansagar Singh and Repu Dhaman Singh took 3 wickets each, while Nilhil scalped 2 wickets and Balmeet Singh claimed one wicket.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Vijay Dogra, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Raman Kumar, Suresh Singh and Manu Khajuria.
