GDC organises national level slogan writing, poster making competition

RAJOURI, May 16: As a part of the year long celebration of the 75th year of Indian Independence ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, a national level slogan writing and poster making competition was organised by Government Degree College Sunderbani on theme ‘Philosophy of Gandhi’.
Principal of the college, Dr Vandana Gupta while speaking about the theme, said that the twin cardinal principles of Gandhi’s thought are truth and non violence. Gandhian philosophy is certainly considered by Gandhians as a universal and timeless philosophy. The ideas of truth and nonviolence, which underpin the whole philosophy, are relevant to all humankind.
The programme was coordinated by Prof Sheraz Kousser and Prof Beant Singh.
The judges for this event were Dr Mohammad Azam, Dr Paras Shastri and Prof Mukesh Sharma, Assistant Professors of GDC Sunderbani.
In the poster making and slogan writing competition, 60 participants from different institutions of higher education across the country participated.
In the poster making, first position was secured by Paridhi Saxena from Bhagwant Group of Medical Science UP, second position was secured by Ananya Rout from DAV Public School Unit 8 Bhubaneswar Odisha and Subhadarsini Das from KKS Women’s College Balasore Odisha, while the third position was secured by R Rajamurugan from SSM College of Pharmacy, Chinniampalayam Pudur, Jambai Village, Bhavani Taulk, Erode District, Tamil Nadu, Neha Sharma from GDC Sunderbani and Soma Shalini Bara from Ranchi, Jharkhand.
In the slogan writing competition, Hima Harry from Carmel College, Mala Kerela and Aishwarya Acharya from Guru Ghasidas Vishwaidyalaya Bilaspur, Chattisgarh secured first position, second position was secured by Kankshi Chaurasia from Government Maharaja College Madhya Pradesh and third position was secured by Vishal Kumar from GDC Sunderbani.
