KATHUA, Aug 8: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua organized District-Level Inter-College Competitions in Essay Writing, Painting, National Anthem Singing and Seminar Presentations, here today. The event, jointly conducted by the Literary Committee, NSS and NCC Unit of the college, showcased the patriotic zeal, talent and creativity of students from nine participating Government Degree Colleges.
Prof. Savi Behl, Principal of GDC Kathua, applauded the participants and emphasized that such events foster unity and deepen students’ understanding of India’s cultural and democratic values. Prof. Shivani Kotwal, Convener of the Literary Committee and Head, Department of English, coordinated the programme and delivered the welcome address.
In the results, Sheetal Bhadwal (GDC Mahanpur) secured first prize in Essay Writing, followed by Palika Jasrotia (GDC Kathua) and Kanika (GDC Marheen). Mehak Sharma (GDC Kathua) topped in Painting, with Sunny (GDC Hiranagar) and Deeksha (GDC Marheen) claiming second and third spots. Rohini Bhagat (GDC Kathua) won in National Anthem Singing and Ritesh Doblia (GDC Basohli) won in Seminar category.
The event was judged by senior academicians and conducted under the guidance of faculty including Dr. Goutam Singh, Dr. Pritima Sangra and Dr. Yashpal Sharma, who delivered the formal vote of thanks.
