GDC Budhal organizes Mushariya

JAMMU, Dec 4: Govt Degree College Budhal organized multi-lingual Poetic Meet (Mushariya) in the memory of great sufi poet Late Mian Mohd Baksh in which students, staff and some prominent poets of the area participated.
The programme was presided over by the Principal of the College Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina, while Ali Shar was the chief guest on the occasion.
In the first phase eleven students presented their poems.
Zahid Farooq was adjudged as first where as IInd and IIIrd positions were secured by Aftab Iqbal and Mohd Azam respectively.
In the IInd phase, staff and prominent poets Mohd Muneer Mughal, Mohd Iqbal, Alyas Shah, Ali Shar, Prof Pricsha Raina, Prof Altaf Ahmed and Prof Imtiaz Hussain Shah presented their poetry.
Earlier, the programme started with recitation of the few verses of the holy Quran by Liyaqat Ali.
Dr Mohd Sajar Malik presented welcome address and threw light on life and work contribution of Main Mohd Baksh.
Prof Manzoor Ali and Prof. Imtayaz Hussain jointly conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Prof Yasir Butt, Prof Mohd Aslam and Prof Altaf acted as jury members.
In his presidential address, Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina spoke on importance of poetry in the society.
Mudasir Ahmad Dar, College PTI presented vote of thanks.
