KATHUA, Nov 6: Government Degree College (GDC) Basohli felicitated its students for their outstanding achievements in the Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournaments held at the University of Jammu for the academic session 2025-26. Under the leadership of Dr. Sunil Gupta, Principal of the college, the institution celebrated the remarkable sportsmanship of its students who clinched 28 medals in various events.
In the Men’s category, GDC Basohli won four gold and six bronze medals, while in the Women’s category, the college secured one gold, nine silver and eight bronze medals. This marks a historic achievement as the college has never won so many medals in the history of Inter-Collegiate tournaments.
The college’s sporting excellence was made possible through the mentorship of Dr. Roshan Lal Sharma (Convener, Sports Committee), Dr. Verinder Singh, Dr. Neha Bandral, Prof. Vishal Sharma, Prof. Devinder Kumar and Ayoush, who provided dedicated coaching. The event was graced by Dr. Irvinder Kour (DSW), Prof. Jasvinder Singh, Dr. Ravinder Kour, Dr. Surya Pratap, Dr. Shubh Kumar and other faculty and staff members.
