Jammu, Nov 4: G D Goenka Public School, organized Diwali mela with Zest & fervor.
Suman Bansal and Sanya Bansal performed the ribbon cutting ceremony and inaugurated the grand Diwali mela amidst loud cheering from students, staff members and other guests spreading the message of fraternity and togetherness.
The mela witnessed different shades of the festival of light, hosted by myriad of inviting stalls, showcasing variety of products for all age groups. Special attraction of the mela was the child centric fun stalls with all the razzmatazz. Thumping DJ and Karaoke tunes made everybody swirl and groove.
Parents were found shopping on the Diwali stalls for their houses. Lovely linens and soft towels were most sought after. School children had prepared items for sale on Diwali with a unique motive, that the proceeds of the Mela shall go to the under privileged children from Ekal Vidayalayas of Rural Jammu.
Yummy multi-cuisine stole everybody’s heart as all delicacies were very delicious and nostril assailing aroma from various stalls made the audience go drooling.
Chairman of the school, Rahul Bansal alongwith the Director Sanya Bansal, Principal Rajesh Rathore and all the Coordinators conducted the draw of the Raffle tickets. Students from the Primary school were invited on the stage and they were asked to pick tickets from the well-shuffled Raffle tickets box. First prize (32″ LED TV) was won by Shalu Aggarwal, whereas second prize (Microwave Oven) was bagged by Riti Sharma and third prize (A washing machine) was won by Sunil Sharma. Raffle draw prizes made the day of the winners extremely fulfilling and rewarding.
In the end Principal Rajesh Rathore presented vote of thanks.
