GCW Udhampur conducts college presidium elections

UDHAMPUR, Oct 14: The Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur, conducted its College Presidium elections under the guidance of Principal Dr. Nalini Pathania and the IQAC. The election process unfolded in two phases-Class Representatives (CRs) elections were held on September 27, 2025, followed by the Students’ Council Presidium polls on October 13.
A total of 60 CRs from the 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters were elected. These representatives then voted to elect the office bearers. Pratibha Sharma of Semester 5 was elected President, Manyata Kotwal (Semester 3) as Vice-President, Ayushi Gupta (Semester 5) as General Secretary, and Diksha Sharma (Semester 3) as Joint Secretary. Treasurer and Joint Treasurer posts were filled by Amanya Sharma (Semester 5) and Shariya (Semester 1), respectively. Shruti Sharma (Semester 5) and Ameesha Devi (Semester 5) were elected Cultural and Literary Secretaries. Eleven coordinators from Semester 1 were appointed, led by Saneha Sharma.
The elections were supervised by Principal Dr. Nalini Pathania and observed by Dr. Indu Khajuria, Dr. Monika Gupta, and Prof. Lekh Raj, who confirmed the polls were conducted in a free and fair manner.
The Students Welfare Committee members, including Dr. Kamaldeep Kour, Prof. Yash Paul, Prof. Sunil Mangotra, Prof. Kusha Sharma, Dr. Swati Dutt, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Prof. Shama Rani, Dr. Anita Kumari, Prof. Pooja Bharti, Prof. Yash Kumar, Dr. Mukteshi Sharma, and Prof. Safina Chowdhary, played a pivotal role in organizing the event. The Dean Students Welfare concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
