GCW Parade wins Inter-Collegiate Archery Tournament

JAMMU, Oct 6: Govt. College for Women Parade once again showed its supremacy and lifted the title trophy by defeating Govt GGM Science College in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Archery (W) Tournament 2015-16, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, at its Sports Stadium, here.
Prof Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up at the venue and Prof Dhian S. Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education presided over the function.
The other were present at the venue Narayani Jamwal, Suman Lata, Jasvant Singh, Rakesh Verma, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia, Romesh Sharma and PD Singh.
The overall championship was won by GCW Parade with 84 points, while Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College stood runners-up with 73 points.
In men’s section, the overall Championship was won by GGM Science College with 107 points, while Govt. Degree College Paloura remained runners-up with 38 points.
The Championship was conducted by Jai Bharat, Incharge Inter Collegiate Archery (M&W) Tournament 2015-16, while the matches were officiated by Sunil Sharma, Secretary J&K Archery Association, Gourav, Pradeep Sharma and Amit Sharma
Meanwhile, in Inter Collegiate Football (Men) Tournament, ASCOMS beat MBS by (3-2) goals, GDC Samba drubbed Bhargava Degree College by (2-1) goals and SPMR College of Commerce thrashed GDC Poonch by (7-0) goals.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Gagan Kumar and Taranpal Singh.
In Inter Collegiate Volleyball (W) Tournament, GDC Ramnagar outplayed GCW Udhampur in the 2nd round, while earlier, GDC Ramnagar outplayed GCW Udhampur by 2-0 sets with set scores 25-18 and 25-13.
The tournament was organized under the direct supervision of Prof. Dhian S. Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, while the matches were officiated by Mulkh Raj, Mammohan Sharma, Manu Singh and Pushap Thakur, under the supervision of event Incharge Vikas Karlopia, Volleyball Coach, University of Jammu.
