GCOE hosts Inter-College Essay Writing Competition cum Anti-Drug Campaign

JAMMU, Aug 8: As part of the Vikshit Bharat Yuva Connect program, Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu hosted two impactful events—an Inter-College Essay Writing Competition and an IEC Campaign Against Drugs under the NCORD Committee.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Ambica Kumari. Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal GCOE Jammu, graced the occasion as chief guest, while Daljeet Singh Manhas, Dean Student Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, was the guest of honour.
The essay competition saw enthusiastic participation from students of various colleges. Haniska Sharma from GGM Science College secured the first prize, followed by Priyanshi Kathial from School of Sciences (second) and Areebah Khan from PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar (third). The competition was judged by Prof. Satish Sharma (GCOE) and Dr. Ritu Magotra (GCW Parade).
Simultaneously, the IEC Campaign Against Drugs featured expert talks by Dr. Nusrat Chouhan (MO), Kewal Krishan (SI) and Shifali Gupta (Sr. Lecturer), focusing on the dangers of substance abuse.
Other dignitaries included Prof. Ramzan Ali, Dr. Zuber Kalis, Prof. Sunanda Rani, Dr. Rajinder Kour, Dr. Rakesh Bharti, and Madam Shafia. Prof. Deepali Kundal delivered the Vote of Thanks. The event was coordinated by the NSS Team and NCORD Committee.
