JAMMU, Feb 10: A series of programmes was organized by the Red Ribbon Club of Govt. College of Education, Jammu in collaboration with the J &K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society, which concluded today with prize and certificate distribution function, here.
The programme of the day began with essay writing competition on the theme “Role of Youth in Building HIV/AIDS Awareness in the Society”.
Prof Sunita Gupta and Dr Aksa members of literary committee of the college were jury members on the occasion. Shaied Iqbal bagged 1st prize, Sonika Thakur claimed 2nd prize, while Radhika Sharma and Mufia Choudhury jointly bagged the third prize.
Principal of the college, Prof.(Dr) Kaushal Smotra presided over the closing function and in her address to the student volunteers she appreciated their efforts and specially referred that youth act as important individuals to spread message in each and every corner of the society, once people realize about the harmful consequence of the fatal disease, hopefully, the spread of the disease will lessen.
Other senior faculty members who were present on the occasion included Prof. Anju Bala, Dean Student Welfare, Prof. C.L. Shivgotra and Coordinator Red Ribbon Club, Prof. Sunita Gupta.
