Gandhi-Mandela Cricket Cup from Sept 21

JAMMU, Sept 5: As part of its initiative of promoting the ideology of the ‘Father of Nation’, Mahatama Gandhi by organizing various programme for worldwide peace and prosperity, the Gandhi Global Family is organizing Gandhi-Mandela Cricket Cup from September 21, 2014, which happens to be the day of International Peace.
According to the organizers, the tournament will be inaugurated by K M Kerpelman, Director UNIC, New Delhi, which will be followed by the matches in each District of the State to involve maximum special youth staying in various Govt and non-Govt run Homes to attract their attention towards sports and games.
The final of the tournament will be played at Srinagar on October 26, 2014.
The organizers have requested the Director, Department of Social Welfare to constitute two teams of special youth, consisting of 13 players each from various Homes falling in Jammu division.
Padamshri SP Varma, president Gandhi Global Family J&K has informed that the matches will be played on knockout basis, with 10 overs a side.
