ANANTNAG, Sept 6: PCC Chief, GA Mir inaugurated the Inter District Cricket Tournament in an impressive and well attended function at Dooru in Anantnag, today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir said that participation of youth in sports and allied activities must be encouraged, adding youth in J&K State are talented and deserve better deal with regard to availability of sports facilities.
One hundred and twenty teams of District Anantnag are participating in this League.
Mr Mir further said that sports is the best way to keep youth away from anti social activities and helpful in maintaining atmosphere of peace and tranquility. He said our youths are talented, educated and deserves every facility and encouragement.
PCC Chief while extending greetings to organizers of the Inter District Tournament, appreciated the efforts of youth in organizing such type of tournaments. He hoped that events like this will boost the morale of the youth and infuse self confidence in them.
PCC Chief said that involving youth in physical and sports activities is a positive step in helping the youth not to derail from the mainstream.
Terming strong youth as strong society, PCC Chief urged the people  to come forward and encourage youths by getting them involved in sports and physical activities, as that will help youth and society to prosper and progress.
