Formidable Mumbai inflicts innings defeat on poor J&K

JAMMU, Dec 16: Strong under-19 boys Mumbai team inflicted humiliating one innings and 168 runs defeat on poor J&K team in the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy at Dr Rajasekhara Reddy ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium, Vizag.
Resuming from an overnight score of 109/7, J&K rode on a magnificent century (101) by in form wicketkeeper/ batsman, Shivansh Sharma and scored 212 runs in their first innings, thus conceding a huge lead of 343 runs to the Mumbai’s first innings total of 555/9 declared. It was Shivansh’s second consecutive century in the tournament.
For Mumbai, Amanullah Manihar captured 5 wickets, while Suryansh Shedge and Nikhil Giri bagged 2 wickets each.
Following-on, J&K bundled out for a paltry total of 175 runs in 54 overs in the second essay, thus lost the match by an innings and big margin. Arya Thakur top scored with 69 runs off 78 balls, while Abid Hussain contributed 34 runs to the total. Nityam and Ranjot chipped in with 15 and 12 runs respectively. Musheer Khan was pick of the bowlers for Mumbai, who captured 5 wickets by conceding 41 runs in his 16 overs, while Amanullah Manihar bagged 3 wickets and Himanshu claimed 2 wickets.
