JAMMU, Sept 19: FICCI FLO Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh (JKL), in collaboration with J&K Police and powered by Munjal Auto, today announced the third edition of the Half Marathon 3.0, scheduled for October 5.
The marathon will flag off from Gulshan Ground, Jammu, at 5:30 AM and is expected to witness wide participation from citizens across the Union Territory.
Addressing the press conference, Aarti Chowdhary, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, said the marathon is both a fitness activity and a social campaign against drug abuse. “Drug addiction is a grave challenge facing our youth. With this marathon, we want to channel their energy into something positive. Our motto is simple but powerful-‘Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life,'” she emphasized.
Race Director Sudhir Anand stressed that the marathon represents discipline and unity of purpose. “This is not just a race; it is a message. Every step taken will be towards building a drug-free society. We urge youth, parents, and civil society to come forward so that together we can fight this menace and build a healthier, stronger future,” he said.
Event Director Kanupriya Garg highlighted the importance of family support. “Families must come together as one unit for the well-being of children. When parents and guardians actively engage, it helps youth resist negative influences. The fight against drugs begins at home, with families united for a brighter future,” she noted.
Organizers announced that registrations are open and assured special arrangements for the smooth conduct of the marathon. Citizens from all walks of life are being invited to participate and run for a healthier tomorrow.
The press conference was also attended by Varuna Anand, past chairperson and National Initiative Head Partnerships and Collaboration; Ruchika Gupta, immediate past chair FICCI FLO JKL; Varsha Bansal, senior vice chairperson; Rupika Sahay, senior vice chairperson; Sona Mehta, treasurer; Shipra Aggarwal, joint treasurer; Nandita Bajaj, secretary; and Pooja Dewan, joint secretary, who extended their support to the initiative.
