AKHNOOR, Oct 24: Friends Cricket Club Bhalwal defeated Akhnoor Cricket Club by 18 runs to advance in the ongoing 6th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, FCC scored 140 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Kapil Singh (41), Ashwani (36) and Lucky (19) were the main contributors. For ACC, Happy and Panday took 2 wickets each, while Ladu and Pardeep claimed one wicket each.
In reply, ACC scored 122 runs in 18.2 overs and lost the match by 18 runs. Happy Singh was top scorer with 40 runs, while Ajay and Binny contributed 22 runs each to the total. For FCC, Kapil scalped 3 wickets, while Ajay bagged 2 wickets. Chotu, Ladu and Jitender claimed one wicket each. Kapil Singh was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Rajinder Singh as umpires, while Vinod was the scorer, while the Tournament is being held under the supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, president Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
