Faisal wins Junior singles title, Narinder claims veteran final

POONCH, Nov 3: On the fourth day of 26th District Poonch Table Tennis Championship, Faisal beat Anuj by 9-11,12-10,11-9 and 11-7 to clinch the junior title, while in Men’s Doubles, the duo of Faisal and Narinder got better of Gagan and Propkar 8-11,11-9,11-9. Safan and Hasan defeated Riaz and Javed by 11-8, 11-9, Salil Raina and Sandeep Luthra outplayed Anuj and Vaishav by 11-5,11-9. Rachit and Marshal trounced Sham Singh and Ravinder Singh.
Later in first semifinal of Men’s Doubles Faisal and Narinder outclassed Hasan and Safan by 9-11,9-11,11-6,11-9,11-8.
In second semifinal Salil Raina and Sandeep Luthra prevailed Rachit and Marshal in straight sets of 11-9,11-6 and 11-7.
In first semifinal in men’s category Propkar Singh defeated defending champion Salil Raina in a well contested match by 9-11,11-9,11-9,11-8 while in second semifinal Faisal defeated Vaishab by 11-7,11-8,11-8. In veterans Narinder Singh beat Jagjit singh by 11-9,11-7 to clinch the veterans title.
Earlier, in pool matches, Narinder trounced Ravinder by 11-9,11-5, Sham Singh got walkover Jaswant Singh, Prof J.S Vir got walkover Ashraf Hussain, while Jagjit Singh beat Vivek.
In first semifinal Narinder defeated Sham Singh by 9-11,11-7,11-6 while in second semifinal Jagjit trounced Prof J.S Vir. In final Narinder beat Jagjit.
Now in Men’s Singles, Faisal will take on Propkar and in Mens ‘Doubles finals, the duo of Salil Raina and Sandeep Luthra will face the pair of Narinder and Faisal in the title clash.
