Ex-Servicemen rally held

Poonch, Oct 30 : A veterans’ rally was organised by the Balnoi battalion under the aegis of Krishna Ghati brigade for the Servicemens of the area under Operation Sadbhavana. The aim of the event was to resolve the problems being faced by the veterans of the area.
The Officiating Commander, Krishna Ghati Brigade was the chief guest. He inaugurated the rally and medical camp in presence of Civil & Army Officials besides Veterans and a large number of local people.
Speaking on the occasion, the Officiating Commander said that the Army would work to alleviate the problems of veterans and provide possible assistance to our valiant soldiers. He also dwelled upon the important role by the veterans towards overcoming the present turmoil in the state and he also impressed upon them, the need to encourage the youth of the area to remain in the mainstream.
A medical and dental check up was organised on the sidelines of the rally for the local populace. The specialist doctors including Surgeon, Gynecologist and Dentist from the Army and civil administration provided counseling and medical treatment. Nearly 368 men, 261 women and 158 children from villages around Balnoi were examined and treated.
