JAMMU, Sept 4: Education institutions organised different programmes on the eve of Teachers Day.
In order to celebrate birth anniversary of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan widely known as Teachers’ Day, KC International School marked the day with eminent exultation.
The event was commenced with the welcome speech by Head Mistress KCIS, Poonam Bhagat, whereas the senior vice chairperson, Saroj Mahajan; vice chairman, Chaitanya Chowdhary; Principal KCIS, Anupama Sinha, Dean Academics paid floral tribute to the greatest teacher, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and inaugurated the event with the lighting of the lamp followed by Ganesh Vandana performed by Aasmi Abrol.
The event was started with the artistic talents where the teachers showcased their love for art and paint followed by musical saga where the aura was filled with the melodious songs sung by the teachers, besides a jovial ‘Tongue Twisters’ session was also held for the teachers.
Activity coordinator, Rajni Malhotra recited one of her poetic compositions ‘Khwahish’. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Pre-Primary wing coordinator, Ameet Kour.
Meanwhile, Aryans Group of Colleges Rajpura, near Chandigarh and Rotary Club Rajpura today celebrated Teachers Day in which Divisional Commissioner Patiala, Chander Gaind was chief guest, while Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges was guest of honour.
On this occasion, about 12 Government and non Government teachers from Rajpura tehsil were honoured by the chief guest.
The Divisional Commissioner said that our teachers are the true pillars of our success. They nourish and prepare students for their future as they are the real icon of knowledge and wisdom. He explained the transformative role of a teacher in a student’s life.
Dr Kataria said that a teacher is a friend, philosopher, and a guide, who instils confidence in young minds, gives them direction and encourages them to dream.
