Economics, Buddhist & DDE&OE win in JU’s Cricket Tourney

JAMMU, May 30: The University of Jammu has kicked off its much-anticipated Inter-Departmental Cricket Tournament 2025-26 for Men with high energy and enthusiastic participation. The tournament is being held at the University Cricket Ground and is marked by a spirit of sportsmanship, unity and competitive zeal among students from various departments.
Organized under the patronage of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Chairman, Campus Sports Committee and coordinated by Raj Kumar Bakshi, Incharge PTI, the event continues to uphold its legacy of fostering camaraderie and physical fitness across campus. Students and spectators alike are showing immense interest in the matches.
In the early rounds of the tournament, Economics Department secured a win over the History Department, showcasing strong performance. In another close match, the Buddhist Department triumphed over the Commerce Department by just 3 runs, posting 125/9 in 15 overs and successfully defending their total as Commerce fell short at 122. The DDE&OE team claimed victory against the Law Department, chasing 124 with five wickets in hand in just 12.3 overs.
The matches are being officiated by experienced officials Vijay Kumar, Ashok Singh, Raj Kumar Bakshi and Anirudh Singh, ensuring fair play throughout the tournament.
