DYSS to host National School Games in 3 disciplines

SRINAGAR, July 9: The Department of Youth Services and Sports is all set to host National School Games in three disciplines of sports this year.
This was informed by Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman through a press statement issued here.
While providing details about these important events DG Sports said that in the annual meeting of School Games Federation of India (SGFI), J&K was allotted the organization of Volleyball for Under-19 boys, Kho-Kho for Under-19 boys and Sqay Martial Arts for Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 girls.
DG YSS also said that 25 teams, each of Volleyball and Kho-Kho and 20 teams in Sqay Martial Arts are expected to participate in the event.
While providing details about the scheduled dates for the organization of these Nationals, another official from Activity Section of the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports said that National in Volleyball will be conducted in the 1st week of October at Srinagar. Simultaneously, National in Kho-Kho and Sqay Martial Arts will be organized at Jammu in the 1st week of December and the last week of December 2019 respectively.
