JAMMU, Jan 10: The Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu and Kashmir, has shortlisted 48 top-performing players for the Under-14 cricket trial matches, based on score sheets, supporting documents and recommendations of a committee constituted for the purpose.
All shortlisted players were required to submit their original birth certificates issued by authorized registration authorities for age verification, in line with SGFI norms. However, 15 players have not yet provided the originals. In a statement the Directorate has directed them to submit the documents by January 11, failing which action will be taken as per established rules.
The shortlisted players were divided into four teams and trial matches commenced after verification of Date of Birth certificates issued by competent authorities. Birth certificates issued by authorized authorities are considered valid proof of age for all purposes, including SGFI competitions.
The Directorate emphasized that the selection and verification process is being conducted in a transparent and systematic manner. The public and social media users have been urged to trust the process and refrain from making judgments until the completion of trials and announcement of final selections.
