Dr Gazi Parvez becomes Mr J&K

JAMMU, Apr 4: Outplaying his rivals in 80-85 kg category, Dr Gazi Parvez became Mr J&K in the 10th J&K State Body Building Championship ‘Mr Jammu and Kashmir 2014-15’, organized by Body Building Association of Jammu and Kashmir, under the banner of J&K State Sports Council in collaboration with Indian Body Building Federation at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
Former Minister, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the occasion, while IGP Jammu, Danish Rana and Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Soujanya Sharma were the guests of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajesh Dutta, general secretary of the Association, Arun Sharma, working president, Mahesh Sharma, vice president, Nand Kishore Gupta, vice president, BS Tirthi, joint secretary, Sunil Mehta, treasurer and Rajeev Sharma, secretary press.
Earlier, in 80-85 kg category, Dr Gazi Parvez won gold, while Dhananjay Singh Charak and Amandeep Singh bagged silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 50-55 kg, Akshit Gupta, Jugal Kumar and Rajnish Jamwal clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in 55-60 kg category, Vimaljeet won gold, Shramik Mahajan and Parveen Sharma claimed silver and bronze medal respectively.
In 60-65 kg, Vikas Kumar, Shanzin Jamyang and Shubham Sawhney won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in 65-70 kg, the gold, silver and bronze medals went to Mukhtar Ahmed, Gurveen Singh and Sanamdeep Singh respectively.
Veerinder, Nakul Kumar and Harpreet Dingra claimed gold, silver and bronze medal in 70-75 kg category, while in 75-80 kg, Guneet Singh, Paramveer Singh and Sachin Gupta bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 85-90 kg, Sidharth Sathoo, Dinesh Singh and Abhishek won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in 90 above, Sidhant Bali, Rohit Kumar and Gurmeet Singh claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Master category, R D Manhas bagged gold, Kulwant Multani clinched silver, while the bronze medals went to Gulshan Sethi and Rakesh Kumar.
