DPS wins Inter-School Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, Feb 5: Outplaying KC Public School convincingly in the summit clash, Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu lifted the title trophy of the Inter-School Cricket Tournament, organized by Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) at the Academy ground, here.
Member BCCI and Working Committee Member JKCA, Ankush Abrol was the chief guest on the occasion, while Devinder Sharma, Block president Youth National Conference, Jammu West was the guest of honour. The chief guest and the other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and the runners-up teams, apart from the individual prizes.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Delhi Public School scored a decent total of 170 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Raj Pratap was the top scorer with 57 runs, while Umang contributed 31 runs to the total. Sanat Anand chipped in with 15 runs. For KC Public School, Ayush Bhat took 2 wickets, while Arin and Shej claimed one wicket each.
In reply, KC Public School managed to score97 runs, thus lost the match by 73 runs. Deepanshu Bhat was the top scorer with 28 runs, while Yogeshwar and Ayush contributed 15 and 13 runs to the total respectively. For DPS, Ankush Gill was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged 4 important wickets, while Anmol claimed 2 wickets. Ankush Gill was adjudged man of the match and best bowler of the tournament. Deepanshu Bhat was named best batsman of the tournament and Ayush Bhat as man of the series.
The match was officiated by Virender Singh and Rakesh Kumar as umpires.
