DPS Jammu holds Solar Awareness Competitions

JAMMU, Aug 2: Delhi Public School Jammu organized a prize distribution ceremony for Classes VI to VIII to honour winners of poster making and debate competitions held under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana awareness campaign.
The event featured addresses by senior officials from JPDCL-Sanjeev Rohmetra (Executive Engineer), Ashwini Kumar and Amit Hanjura (Assistant Executive Engineers)-along with Shavindu Mehta, representative from REC Ltd. Sanjeev Rohmetra presented the scheme’s benefits, while Amit Hanjura highlighted the importance of student engagement in promoting solar energy.
Student Priyal recited her original Hindi poem “Ek Kiran Ki Aas” and Abhilasha Ralli and Tanish Pathania delivered speeches on clean energy.
Poster Making winners (Class VI): Avish Raina, Zaina Singh, Aahana Raina, Myraa Thakur, Aahana Gupta, Aayan Hassan Khan, Alena, Matsya Sharma, Shazia Anjum, Yamina Rashid and Syed Zynah.
Debate winners (Class VII): Avaya Sharma, Abhilasha Ralli, Tanish Pathania, Narayani Sharma, Shayna Jamwal, Bhavini Singh, Vivaan Gupta, Harsimar Kour, Myra Gupta, and Chirag Gupta.
Debate winners (Class VIII): Vinaya Gupta, Paras Gupta, Samrudh Bakshi, Safal Pranjal, Snehal Atri, Aaratrika Gupta, Pranika, Japneev Kour, Rithvik Singh and Seerat Ayesha Chauhan.
Diya Dogra and Sayed Hansa compered the event confidently. Principal Ruchi Chabra and Vice Principal Meenu Gupta praised the students and received a Certificate of Appreciation from JPDCL for the school’s contribution to promoting solar energy.
