JAMMU, Sept 13: Delhi Public School Jammu held an engaging Moot Court competition for students in Classes IX to XII. The event not only tested their understanding of civil and criminal cases but also aimed to enhance their legal awareness and advocacy skills.
A highlight of the competition was a skit performed by students to raise awareness about justice for women suffering from domestic violence. This was complemented by a documentary emphasizing the importance of legal support for such victims.
The jury comprised Justice Subhash Gupta, District Sessions Judge (Retd.) and Jasbeer Singh Jasrotia, Senior Advocate of the High Court of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Their evaluation and interaction with the students were highly valued, and the students’ confidence and presentation skills were praised.
Awards were presented to Momin Adnan and Surveen Kour as the Event Heads, while Pratham Thapa, Himanshu Sumbriya, Alok Gupta, Manya Targotra, and Manaswin Mahajan received special recognition. The appreciation awards went to Charvi Gupta (Best Lawyer), Zeeshaan Bhat (Best Plaintiff/ Accused), and Adaa Mahajan (Best Witness). Principal Ruchi Chabra expressed her gratitude to the jury and commended the organizing efforts of Teacher-in-Charge Deepak Sharma and the Social Science faculty.
