JAMMU, June 6: Doon International School Jammu, in collaboration with the FactShala University Network, organized a virtual workshop titled “Media Literacy in the Age of Deepfakes”. The session aimed to enhance digital awareness among students and educators, equipping them to navigate today’s complex media landscape.
The workshop featured renowned media expert Dr. Rabia Gupta, who delivered an insightful presentation on the impact and evolution of deepfake technology. She emphasized the importance of developing critical thinking skills to identify and respond to manipulated digital content.
Dr. Gupta’s engaging discourse explored the ethical, social, and technological dimensions of deepfakes, offering participants practical tools to verify digital media and combat misinformation. The workshop was organized under the leadership of Dr. Vikesh Kaur, Principal of Doon International School Jammu, who highlighted the necessity of media literacy in today’s digital age.
“Empowering students with the ability to think critically and responsibly is key to nurturing informed digital citizens,” she said.
