Dogra HSS celebrates Golden Jubilee

JAMMU, Feb 5: Dogra Hr. Sec. School Shastri Nagar Jammu is celebrating its 50 years of excellence in the field of education. In this connection, an event “Clean Monument Campaign” was held today at Bahu Fort here under the supervision of Managing Director DHSS Gambhir Dev Singh Charak and Principal, Devinder Kour in collaboration with INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) Jammu Chapter.
President Dogra Sadar Sabha, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister was the chief guest on the occasion. He inspired students to take care of the Monuments, which depict the history of Indian culture and traditions. He also inspired them to be proud Indians and take proper care of monuments as they are our Heritage and symbol of our gloryful past. Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, S.M.Sahni, Convener INTACH, Jammu Chapter presided over the programme. Samar Dev Singh Charak and Manu Khajuria, of Voice of Dogra a UK based organization, Maj. Gen. G. S. Jamwal (Retd.), and Prof. Anita Billawaria HoD, History Department, were also present as special guests.
S. M. Sahni, in his speech appealed the students present there to be aware of their rich dogra culture and heritage and cherish the same.
Students from Dogra Hr. Sec., Shiksha Niketan, SD Tarapuri and GGHSS, Shastri Nagar etc. participated in the event which was followed by a painting and write up competition. The winners of the said competition will be awarded at Delhi at national level.
A special vote of thanks was presented by M.D Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.
