Dogra College celebrates 18th Annual Function

JAMMU, July 29: Dogra College of Education, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahamana, Jammu celebrated its 18th Annual Function in its College Auditorium with great pomp and show, here.
The proceedings of the programme began with lighting of traditional lamp, which was followed by Saraswati Vandana and presentation of various cultural items.
Prof BD Damral, Director Dogra College of Education presented welcome address, while Dr Kiran Luthra, Principal presented annual report.
Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister and member All India Congress Committee was the chief guest on the occasion, who in his address stressed upon the role of teachers in shaping the personality of the students in the desired directions. He also emphasized upon the need and importance of teacher education to shape future of the nation.
He appreciated the students for their landmark achievements in both academics and sports.
Students presented a colourful cultural programme which included folk dances of Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, besides group song.
Later-on mementoes and prizes were distributed among the outstanding students and the  7th issue of Annual College Magazine ‘Shikshak’ was also released on the occasion.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by lecturer Indu Puri.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Samar Dev Singh, secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Ghambir Dev Singh Charak, member Trustee and Prof VK Kapoor, Director Cum Principal, Dogra Law College.
