DODA, Nov 18: Ranveer Kumar, a promising cricketer from Doda, captained the U-14 Indian Jaguars to a thrilling 30-run victory over U-14 Indian Lions in the YSCL State League match at Laxmi Kant Arora Stadium, Delhi.
Batting first, U-14 Indian Jaguars set a target of 172 runs in 20 overs. The opening pair of Chinmay and Ashok got the innings underway, though Ashok was dismissed without scoring. Captain Ranveer Kumar showcased his leadership with a strong 43 runs off 35 balls, while Sumit Mistry’s blistering 52 runs off 26 balls boosted the team’s total.
In response, the U-14 Indian Lions struggled to chase the target. Despite an impressive 51 runs off 20 balls from Bharat Partap, the Lions were bowled out for 142 runs, falling short by 30 runs.
On the bowling front, Ranveer took 1 wicket for 14 runs in 3 overs, while Smit Mistry and Bhavya Thakkar claimed 2 wickets each. Ranveer’s impressive captaincy and performance earned him a spot in the upcoming national camp for the Indian U-14 team. He expressed his excitement, hoping to represent India at the international level soon.
