Doda, Oct 22: In a tribute to police martyrs and to promote youth engagement through sports, Doda Police organised a Martyrs’ Memorial Badminton Tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), Bhaderwah. The tournament was held under the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta and supervised by SDPO Bhaderwah, Shoket Ali.
The event aimed to honour the supreme sacrifices of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, while simultaneously encouraging sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork among local youth.
A total of eight teams participated in the tournament, which was played in a knockout format, followed by two semifinals and a final. The matches drew enthusiastic participation from students and sports lovers in the Bhaderwah region, with players displaying exceptional skill and competitive spirit throughout the event.
The initiative was well-received by the community and highlighted the importance of police-public cooperation. Doda Police reaffirmed its commitment to engaging with the youth through sports and community-driven programmes, aimed at fostering mutual respect and strengthening social bonds.
Such events under CAP play a crucial role in building trust and bridging the gap between the police and the public.
