JAMMU, June 6: Divine Events J&K, in collaboration with Shaurya International School, organized a grand musical competition titled “A Musical Experience with Amritpal Singh” under the theme “Say No to Mobile Phones, Yes to Music.” The event aimed to encourage students to embrace music as a healthy alternative to excessive screen time.
Vikram Randhawa, BJP MLA (Bahu), graced the occasion as chief guest. Guests of honour included Dr. Hemja Mengi (BJYM), Harinder Mahajan, Sahil Mahajan and Dr. Rajesh Gandral. All dignitaries highlighted the role of music in youth development.
Participants from 10 reputed schools competed in vocal and instrumental categories. Winners included Manan Gupta (Jodhamal Public School), Mehrab Singh and Sanchit Singh in Guitar; Sanmay Gupta (KC International), Ridhaan Gupta and Ashmita Sharma in Keyboard. In vocals, Ridhaan Gupta, Khushi Kapoor, Avni Sharma and Adil Rahman Lone stood out. Khuda Baksh Public School won the Group Song category.
Special prizes were awarded to Rohitka Sharma (Santoor) and Rohansh Sharma (Drums). A guest performance by Gurshifat Kaur added charm to the event. Judges Rohit Sharma and Dr. Vishakha Bhardwaj praised the talent on display. The event was anchored by Morlin Brightson and coordinated by Amritpal Singh, Chairman, divine events.
