JAMMU, Mar 21: District Wrestling Championships of Samba and Reasi, organised by Wrestling Association of J&K, concluded today at Mini Sports Stadium Bari Brahmana and Amba Kids School Panthal Reasi respectively.
Dheeraj Sharma, former wrestler and NIS coach was the chief guest of Samba district championship, whereas former wrestler Dushyant Sharma was the chief guest at District Reasi championship.
About 60 wrestlers of different weight categories participated at Samba championship wherein in 26 kg category, Krish Kumar and Anshu Kumar won gold and silver medals whereas in 35 kg, Binia Meen clinched gold medal while Abid Hussain bagged silver medal and in 43 kg, gold and silver medals were won by Sachin Singh and Vansh Kumar and Muktar Mohd, Rafiq Mohd and Parvez Ahmed secured gold, silver and bronze medals in 43 kg category also.
In 61 kg, top three medals were clinched by Tirath Ram, Sujal Chib and Akhter Hussain, while in 70 kg, Qadir Khan, Manshu and Mohd Sadiq won top three medals respectively and 79 kg, Raj Singh, Narinder Singh and Harshdev Singh bagged top three medals besides Pankaj Sharma, Mukesh Kumar and Parveen Kumar bagged gold, silver and bronze medals in 93 kg category.
Meanwhile, in under-15 boys and girls category, Mukesh Singh, Adhi Verma and Ajay Singh won top three medals in 33 kg, whereas in 39 kg, Raj Kumar, Vikasdeepand Samar Kumar clinched top three medals and Vansh Prashar, Naresh Singh and Sahil Singh secured top three medals in 50 kg.
First three medals were secured by Neeru Devi, Akshara Sharma and Jyoti Devi in 36 kg, whereas in 46 kg, Priya Thakur, Muskan Devi and Tanishka Bandral clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively and in 50 kg, Meenakshi Bhagat, Sonali Bhagat and Sneha Sharma secured top three medals respectively.
In senior category (57 kg), Sohan Singh, Amrik Singh and Manmohan Singh won top three medals, whereas in 61 kg, Sanjeet Singh, Pankaj Singh and Varun Kumar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and in 65 kg, Subash Singh, Arun Kumar and Radhey Krishan bagged top three medals respectively, besides in 70 kg, Chain Singh, Jarnail Singh and Gurdev Singh clinched top three medals while 79 kg, Surjeet Singh, Phoolchain Singh and Pritam Singh won top three medals and in 86 kg, Balwan Singh, Madan Singh and Ravinder Singh got gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
The matches were conducted by Ajay Bharti and Chamail Singh at Reasi while at Samba the matches were officiated by Diler Khan and Sahil Dogoria.
