UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: The District Udhampur Wushu Championship 2025-26, organized by District Udhampur Wushu Association, concluded at Indoor Sports Hall, Subash Stadium, Udhampur. Over 250 players from sub-junior, junior and senior categories, both male and female, participated, displaying remarkable skill and sportsmanship.
The championship was formally concluded by Ashok Kumar, former Director of Sports, SMVDSB, who appreciated the District Udhampur Wushu Association for organizing the event and encouraged the young athletes to pursue excellence. Sonia Verma (Secretary), Vijay Kumar (President), Yashpal (National Referee), Sahil Manhas, Ranjeet Verma, Suresh Manhas, Karan, Vishali, Imran, Iditya, Shubam and Pushap Mehra were also present to witness the final proceedings.
In the girls’ categories, Shreya Yogi won gold in the below 52kg category, followed by Afsana Afroz with silver and Zeenat with bronze. Pratima secured gold in the below 56kg category, with Avni taking silver and Palak Devi bronze, while Vaidehi claimed gold in the below 60kg category, Rajeshwari won silver and Mehvish took bronze.
Among boys, Nilesh won gold in the below 24kg category, Irfath silver and Shivansh bronze. In the below 32kg category, Akshay Kumar claimed gold, Aditya silver and Aryan received bronze. Shahid secured gold in the below 36kg category, Arif silver and Shivansh bronze. Kannan won gold in the below 40kg category, Rudraksh silver and Shivansh bronze. Rayyan Javid took gold in the below 44kg category, Harsh silver and Jatten Kumar bronze.
