District Srinagar U-19 footballers seal berth in semis

JAMMU, Sept 14: The Under-19 boys of District Srinagar football team, sent under Project Sadhbhavana for participation in the Inter-School Football Tournament of top Schools in India have sailed into the semifinals at Ajmer in Rajasthan this evening.
Earlier, defeating Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer by four goals to two (4-2), the team sent from Jammu and Kashmir was the first team to seal berth in the semifinals. Skipper Raja Musharaf scored 2 goals, while Mohd Nafe and Aqib Javid netted one goal each for the winners.
Meanwhile, after storming into the semifinals, the team visited the Holy Shrine of Sofi Saint Khawaja Gareeb Nawajat, Ajmer and sought blessings.
It is pertinent to mention here that the team from Jammu and Kashmir was sent by HQ 31 Sub Area in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under Project Sadhbhavana.
The team will be there up to September 18, 2012 as the tournament would be concluding on that day.
