SRINAGAR, July 30: The District Srinagar Carrom Championship 2025-26 concluded at the Carrom Hall, Bakshi Stadium, here today.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Javid-ur-Rehman, Administrative Officer and Sports Officer Central (Kashmir), J&K Sports Council, who distributed trophies and medals to the winners and runners-up. He was joined by Adil Rashid Shah, President of the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Association; Goutam Shukla, Incharge Sports Activities; Arif Sultan Khan, Treasurer; and Dawar Rashid Gadyari, Assistant Secretary and Organizing Secretary.
Javid-ur-Rehman praised the players, officials, and parents for their dedication and emphasized the importance of sports in shaping youth, stating, “Choosing sports over drug abuse builds discipline, direction, and determination.”
He also urged parents and schools to promote carrom, noting it offers equal opportunities for sports quotas, admissions, and careers. Winners across categories included Saeedah Adil, Peerzada Rasikh, Hassan Adil, Saeedah Adil, Moomin Mehraj, Aqsa Jan and Shahid Ahmad.
