POONCH, Jan 30: The District Poonch Ball Badminton Championship 2025–26 concluded with a felicitation ceremony for the winners and runners-up at Carmel School Chandak, Poonch. The two-day event was organized by District Poonch Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association, under the J&K Sports Council initiative.
Around 150 players from 15 teams, representing schools, colleges and clubs, participated with enthusiasm, showcasing teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship. The championship was conducted under the supervision of Manzoor Ahmad Lone, assisted by Mohd Sohail, Ajaz Ahmad, Israr Ahmad, Mohd Rayaz and Tahir Yaseen.
The awards ceremony was graced by chief guest Jisha Maria, Principal, Carmel School Chandak and guests of honour Stephy, Owais-ud-Din and Saval Ahmad, who also served as observers on behalf of the J&K Sports Council. Mohd Akram, Organizing Secretary, along with members of the J&K Ball Badminton Association, distributed medals to winners and runners-up.
Jisha Maria lauded the players’ talent and dedication, urging them to continue their hard work. The event concluded successfully, reaffirming the commitment of the J&K Sports Council and affiliated associations toward promoting sports at the grassroots level.
