KISHTWAR, Oct 22: District Police Kishtwar organized a Volleyball Tournament at Chowgan Ground to pay heartfelt tribute to police martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The event was held as part of ongoing efforts to honour the fallen heroes and promote positive youth engagement.
The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh, in the presence of senior police officers. Addressing the gathering, SSP Singh emphasized the importance of remembering martyrs and encouraging youth towards constructive activities. “Sports teach discipline, unity, and purpose-values essential for building a strong and peaceful society,” he noted, urging families to support children in pursuing healthy lifestyles and staying away from drugs.
The final match, played between Roman Volleyball Club Drabshalla and Matta Volleyball Club Kishtwar, concluded with Matta Club clinching victory. SSP Kishtwar applauded the performance of all participants and distributed medals and prizes to the winners and runners-up.
The event saw an enthusiastic turnout from local youth and spectators, showcasing strong community spirit. Also present were Addl. SP Kishtwar, DySP Dachhan, DySP DAR DPL Kishtwar and other dignitaries.
District Police Kishtwar reaffirmed its commitment to fostering community relations through sports and commemorative events.
