UDHAMPUR, May 21: The District-Level Inter-School, Inter-Zone Sports Meet commenced here today, featuring 337 young athletes competing in a range of events including Kho Kho, softball, Judo, and Wushu. The competitions are focused on Under-14 and Under-17 girls, with athletes showcasing both physical prowess and strategic thinking.
The opening ceremony was graced by Romesh Chander Mishra, the chief guest, along with Zonal Physical Education Officers from Tikri, Udhampur, Pancheri and Jib, as well as a dedicated team from the District Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) department. In the Kho Kho (U-14 Boys) event, Zone Babey emerged victorious, defeating Zone Chenani in a thrilling contest. In the Kho Kho (U-17 Boys) final, Zone Chenani triumphed over Zone Babey, clinching the top spot. The Wushu and Judo events also held today featured trial rounds to scout talent for upcoming divisional and state competitions.
