District level 20th National Children’s Science Congress concludes

JAMMU, Oct 18: Two day District level 20th National Children’s Science Congress concluded today at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Gandhi Nagar with the distribution of certificates of appreciation.
In the Science Congress programme, about 300 student group leaders representing their groups belonging to different Kendriya Vidyalayas spread over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and J&K participated.
On the concluding day, BL Morodia, Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan (KVS), Jammu region, was the chief guest, who while speaking, said that the exposure got by the children during such events, leaves a lasting impression on their minds.
He added that this event has given chance to the students to the region to associate themselves with this programme. He impressed upon the need to boost the morale of the young children to promote their scientific temper and understanding towards the principles working behind the activities of day-to-day life situation.
The Children’s Science Congress is a programme organised by National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Government of India.
Selected 20 projects along with 20 student group leaders will participate in the State level/ KVS (National) Science Congress to be held at Hyderabad in the near future.
Dr Chitra Mishra, Venue Coordinator and Principal, KV No 1, Jammu and M Laxmi Narayan/ Co-ordinator and Principal, KV No 2, Jammu were also present.
