District Kathua Taekwondo C’ship commences

KATHUA, Dec 26: The Opening Ceremony of the District Kathua Taekwondo Championships 2025-26 was held with great enthusiasm, marking a significant milestone for martial arts in the district. The event witnessed active participation from around 150 players representing various schools and clubs across Kathua.
The ceremony was graced by Rajesh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, as the chief guest, while Atul Pangotra attended as the guest of honour. Their presence boosted the morale of young athletes and added prestige to the championship.
The tournament is being organized under the leadership of Amit Kumar Badculia, Secretary, Taekwondo Association of District Kathua, with strong support from Pushap Thakur, Pankaj Spolia and Vishesh Thakur.
The chief guest appreciated the organizing committee for their efforts in promoting sports at the grassroots level and highlighted the role of sports in discipline and character building. Medallists will represent District Kathua at the upcoming 28th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2025.
