UDHAMPUR, Aug 26: Jammu district emerged overall winner in the three days long State Level Inter District Handball Tournament for Girls of all age group here today at Mini Stadium.
In U-14 category, District Jammu defeated District Udhampur by 3-2 goals. The third place was secured by District Pulwama.
In U-17 category, District Jammu crushed District Udhampur by 11-2 goals. District Pulwama claimed third position.
In U-19 category, District Jammu smashed District Udhampur by 13-6 goals. The third place was bagged by District Baramulla.
On the valedictory function, Rakesh Singh Jamwal, Joint Director, Planning, Udhampur was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of Sunil Sharma, Principal, Government HSS Udhampur, who was guest of honour.
Kashish from Jammu district team scored 9 goals and was declared best player of the tournament.
The matches were officiated by Ravi Singh, Pushpinder Kour, Ajay Sharma, Vipen Photra, Rishi Kumar, Karun Magotra, Vikrant Balgotra, Nisha Sharma, Bandana Kumari, Pooja Devi and Sandeep Kour.
The tournament was organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of Sunil Singh Sambyal, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Udhampur.
