BARAMULLA, Dec 9: The District Level Chess Championship Baramulla concluded at SRM Welkin Educational Trust, Sopore, here today. Organized by the District Olympic Association Baramulla in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the Championship was open to all age groups and saw participation from boys and girls representing various schools and clubs across the district.
Haji Anayat Ullah Hajini, Chairman SRM Welkin Educational Trust, graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest and along with other dignitaries, distributed trophies and medals to the winners and runners-up.
Among others present were Majid Bashir, former President Sopore Cricket Association; former Chief Sports Officer J&K Sports Council Peerzada Ab Qayoom; technical official AKFI Khazir Mohammad Ganaie; and PET Smart School System Zahoor Ahmad, along with students and sports enthusiasts. Organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and officials for making the event a success.
