ANANTNAG, Jan 18: The District Anantnag Carrom Championship concluded with great enthusiasm at the Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, Bijbehara, here today.
The two-day event, organized by the District Anantnag Carrom Association under the aegis of the Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, was held as part of the “My Youth My Pride” initiative. The competition saw vibrant participation from players across Cadet, Junior and Senior categories for both boys and girls.
In the competitive matches, Hadeeqa Fatima emerged victorious in the Cadet Girls category, while Luqman Bilal secured the win in the Cadet Boys category. Ishra Javaid clinched the top spot in the Junior Girls category and Zeshan Gulzar won the Junior Boys category. In the Senior Women’s category, Anzalna Rafiq took the first place, and Umar Farooq triumphed in the Senior Men’s category.
The closing ceremony was graced by Mohammad Shafi, Manager of the Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, who served as the chief guest. He distributed medals, certificates, and prizes to the winners, runners-up, and third-place holders, praising their exceptional performances.
