JAMMU, Nov 26: Disha Pandith represented India at an international seminar on martial arts, themed “Martial Art and Peace,” held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, under the aegis of the Department of Cultural and Sports. She delivered a presentation on SQAY, the ancient martial art of Kashmir, highlighting its rich history and growing global presence across 62 countries. Pandith expressed hope that SQAY would soon find a place in major international sporting events.
The initiative of the Vietnam Government to promote global harmony through martial arts received appreciation from participants. A martial arts contest was also organised alongside the seminar, where Disha Pandith delivered an impressive performance. As the only participant selected from the Valley, she was the sole representative from her region. Basharat Rasool, Shidesh Shripad Nayik and Adil Bashir congratulated her and extended best wishes to the Indian SQAY team.
