JAMMU, Aug 28: In response to the recent flash floods in Jammu division, Director General of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta, today conducted an on-site inspection of the damage at Khel Gaon and Youth Hostel, Nagrota.
The region has faced severe infrastructural damage due to continuous heavy rainfall, affecting roads, bridges, playfields and hostels. During her visit, the DG-YSS assessed the damage and directed the Engineering Wing to take immediate action for restoration and upgrades.
She emphasized the department’s vision of revamping sports infrastructure to world-class standards, ensuring that athletes have access to high-quality facilities. Special focus was placed on the maintenance of key assets, including the cricket ground, football turf and the under-construction indoor hall at Khel Gaon.
Gupta also reviewed the condition of the damaged front wall of the Youth Hostel Nagrota, reiterating the importance of timely repairs and asset preservation. She was accompanied by senior officials including Dr. Vinakshi Koul (Joint Director YSS Jammu), Jitender Mishra (Deputy Director YSS Central), Megha Bogia (Deputy Director YSS Planning), and Engineering Wing representatives — reflecting a coordinated departmental approach to tackling the crisis.
