DDC Samba inaugurates Inter-School Tournament

SAMBA, Sept 4: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba Mubarak Singh inaugurated the District Level Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of kabaddi and kho-kho Under-19 boys and volleyball Under-14 and Under-17 boys at Kehli Mandi grounds, here today.
An impressive opening ceremony was held wherein abourt 400 students participated and took the pledge. Chief Education Officer Ravi Dubey, Principals of Government Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools were also present on the occasion.
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the overall supervision of Jarpal Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Samba and the organizing secretary of the tournament.
Mohan Singh, Zonal Physical Education Officer Ramgarh, is the joint organizing secretary of the tournament.
In kabaddi Under-19 boys, GHSS Gaghwal trounced HSS Uttarbahni by 18 points, HSS Nud toppled HSS Gurah Salathia by 21 points, Shishu Niketan HSS Samba defeated GHSS Rajpura by 21 points, GHSS Sumb prevailed upon GHSS Jakh by 18 points, Jyoti Public School Vijaypur scripted a narrow win by 3 points over Arvind Gosh School, GHSS Nud got better of GHSS Vijaypur by 4 points and Shishu Niketan HSS Samba beat GHSS Ghagwal by 11 points.
In kho-kho Under-19 boys final, Gagwal beat HSS S–B by 8 points.
Meanwhile, in under-14 boys Volleyball, High School Suchani would lock horns Middle School Ramgarh in the final tomorrowl.
