JAMMU, Oct 26: Dogra College of Education, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana, Jammu celebrated its Display Your Talent in the College Auditorium with pump and show.
The proceedings of the programme began with the lighting of traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana and the presentation of various cultural items.
The welcome address was presented by Shefali Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education. In her address she emphasized the importance and recognition of hidden talents of the students which always contribute to the development of self confidence and self expression.
On the occasion, highly attractive and colorful performances were presented by the teacher trainees. The cultural event was a blend of folk dances and items representing the State of J&K, Punjab and other North Indian states.
The display items of talent comprised of solo performances, Dogri songs, Punjabi songs, skits based upon social issues, fusion dance, Punjabi dance, Mimicry and patriotic group dance. More than 50 students participated in the function to make the occasion a memorable one.
Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust was the chief guest on the occasion, who in his address, appreciated the talent exhibited by the teacher trainees belonging to the different States of India and stated that such programmes enable the students to express their hidden talents in the best desirable way.
The Chairman in his address appreciated the teacher trainees Indu, Sindu, Anubhuti, Samriti for their presentation.
Indu Sharma was declared Miss Talented.
Indika and Ashu conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, SC Khajuria, Director Administration and Campus Development, Prof. KL Bhatia, Director Dogra Law College and Poonam Gupta, Principal Dogra Degree College.
Later, vote of thanks was presented by Bela Thakur Academic Co-ordinator, Dogra College of Education.
