JAMMU, Mar 26: The third day of the Hockey J&K UT Men Hockey Championship, held at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, witnessed high-scoring encounters as the quarterfinal lineup began taking shape. A total of three matches were played today among participating teams from across the Union Territory.
Dr. Ajay Sharma, SP Jammu South, was the chief guest for the day and was introduced to the players during the occasion.
In the opening match, JKP dominated Pulwama with a comprehensive 9-0 victory. Arunpreet Singh (8th, 29th minutes) and Hardeep Singh (27th, 47th minutes) scored two goals each, while Karanjit Singh (1st minute), captain Ali Mohd Khan (6th), Gagandeep Singh, Balbir Singh, and Ishtiaq Ahmad added one goal each.
The second match saw Baramulla overpower Kulgam 17-0. Gursehaj Singh scored six goals, Jaipal Singh two, Pardeep Singh one, Karampal Singh two, Prabhvir Singh four, and Tanishdeep Singh one goal, sealing a dominant win.
In the third match, Poonch defeated Ganderbal 9-0. Masoom Ahmad scored twice (6th, 28th minutes), captain Mukesh Kumar netted a hat-trick (47th, 55th, 56th), Abhi Sharma scored two (22nd, 44th), while Zahid Shareef and Raveet Singh added one goal each.
