JAMMU, June 5: In a significant academic achievement, the Centre for Women’s Studies (CWS), MIER College of Education (Autonomous), has announced the international publication of an edited volume titled “Women and Empowerment: Achieving SDG 5”, in collaboration with Springer Nature under its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) series.
The book explores the global dimensions of women’s empowerment and aims to contribute meaningfully towards the realization of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 – Gender Equality. The volume brings together theoretical perspectives, empirical research studies and powerful auto-ethnographic narratives from diverse parts of the world, offering a nuanced understanding of challenges and progress in the field of women’s development.
The book has been edited by eminent academicians including Prof. Rekha Koul, Deputy Head, School of Education, Curtin University, Australia; Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson, MIER Group of Institutions; Dr. Bharti Tandon, Associate Professor and Deputy Head, School of Education, MIER College of Education; and Rupa Gupta, Director, SSGCWS and Joint Director, MIER.
